GREENE, Bernard (Lucan South, Co. Dublin and formerly of Belturbet, Co. Cavan and ex School teacher Glasnevin, Dublin 11) August 25th., 2026. Passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his husband’s loving presence, surrounded by the exceptional care and compassion of the nurses from Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross. Predeceased by his beloved sisters Mary and Alice, his adoring brothers Seamus, John and Paddy, and his treasured parents John Joe and Alice (née O’Reilly). He is also reunited with his cherished niece Siobhán Greene and his dear former partner James (Jimmy) Keyes whose spirits have long awaited him with love. Bernard now joins them in a reunion of souls that transcends time and space.
He will be deeply missed by his loving husband Noel Kilduff, devoted brother-in-law Kevin Kilduff, cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and relatives.
Bernard lived with quiet strength and boundless love, touching the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
His absence leaves an irreplaceable void – a tender ache felt deeply by his husband, family, neighbours and the countless friends whose lives were brighter because of his warm heart and gentle spirit.
May his soul, so abundant in kindness and grace, rest in eternal peace.
Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Lucan on Sunday evening (August 30th) between 4 pm and 6 pm. Requiem Mass will be held in his honour on Monday morning (August 31st) at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church, Lucan followed by his final journey to rest in Newcastle Cemetery.
The family would like to acknowledge the tender care provided by Bernard’s public district nurse Judith Fitzgerald and all of the home care team and carers of Caremark.
