Patrick Joseph (Joe) Smith

Patrick Joseph (Joe) Smith

Dublin, Laurel Lodge

SMITH, Patrick Joseph (Joe) (Laurel Lodge Dublin 15, formerly of Rathmoyle Co. Roscommon) April 23rd, 2020 passed peacefully at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown. Beloved husband of Mary (Moira), dear father of Paul, Leona, Damian, Noel, Aidan, Alan, Elain, Orla, Barry and Tracy and brother of John and Marie. Also sadly missed by his loving grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. R.I.P.

Joe lived for his family and community. He was actively involved in many community projects, most notably in the development of the local church, school and community centre. He spent many years working as an A.C.O in the Irish Prison Service. He was a keen GAA supporter, and always remained loyal to his Roscommon roots. Joe was known throughout the community for his sense of humour, and willingness to always lend a helping hand to everyone. It's a great loss for him to have left us, and he will be sadly missed.

"With willing hands and a loving heart, for us you did it all".

A private funeral must take place due to government advice regarding public gatherings. When the current restrictions are removed, we look forward to celebrating Joe's life with friends and extended family. The corteige will drive through Laurel Lodge estate on Monday 27th at 11.40am entering at Parklands and then on to Castleknock Wood, Castleknock Drive, Castleknock Meadows, Castleknock Grange, Castleknock Vale and Castleknock Rise, to arrive at the Church for a Private Family Funeral at 12noon where Joe's mass will be available to livestream on www.laurellodgeparish.ie After Mass, the corteige will again drive into Castleknock Drive en route to the cemetery.
