I only met you once when I was a wee lass. You came to america to visit my father. I remember your collar, the way you smelled, and the peaceful nature you had. You taught me that no matter what happens in my life, to remain at peace, one must live through faith, humility, and charity. I will never forget you or this lesson.
may you rejoice in being released from the pain of this existence
may you take your rightful place among your ancestors who have gone before.
may you continue to be a source of strength for those left behind in this Valley of Tears
Amen

I only knew Father Pat by way of his travels with my grandfather, John “Jack” Culhane. I understand that you were a man of great conviction, compassion, and generosity of spirit. May the way you lived your life serve to inspire us all. Best wishes and sincere condolences from afar to those you left behind. RIP.

We remember Father Pat with much affection and warmth. Although on the other side of the world, we enjoyed regular phone conversations and letters. We especially treasure a photo of him with us in his front garden in Lucan Rd and his last letter to us a year ago, in which he gave his usual update of family events and recollections of history. He concluded by saying, ‘I am the most senior member of the tribe. You should apply for it from NZ!!! Sure the Taioseach is foreign.’
Requiescat in pace, Father Pat.

Father Pat, you were always my Mother’s favourite. So kind with her. She welcomed her calls with you over the years and you friendly and newsy correspondence.
I always looked forward to my visits to see you each time I was in Ireland and am so very grateful we had many happy times together. I will always remember our cups of tea and, on one occasion, you insisting on taking me to your favourite shop to buy a loaf of Irish Bread to take home to Canada for my Mother.
Rest In Peace. You will always be missed.
