O’CONNELL, David (Mill Lane, Leixlip, Co. Kildare) May 6th., 2023 (peacefully) surrounded by his loving family and in the tender care of the staff at St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown. David will be sadly missed by his loving daughters Hazel and Aoife and their mother Ann, Aoife’s partner Sabuz, brothers Paul, Mark and Declan, sister Eileen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Lucan on Wednesday evening (May 10th) between 6 pm and 8 pm. Removal on Thursday morning (May 11th) to The Church of Our Lady’s Nativity, Leixlip arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 am followed by burial in Confey Cemetery. House Private, please.

My condolences to Dave’s family and the many friends he made all over the country. Dave travelled every inch of Ireland with RTE outside broadcasts and l was privileged to share his company on many gigs over the years. He was a brave and thoughtful man.
Rest in peace, Brother, your travels are over.
I left RTÉ 25 years ago and not even being in Dave’s department, he still left an indelible mark on my life as well as that of many others. So sad to see that mischievous smile leave us, but he is in our hearts and minds forever. Sleep at ease Dave, your job is done!
