Lucy’s wonderful sense of humour and spirit made her so much fun to work with. She never lost her love for teaching and respect for the young people she worked with. Rest in peace Lucy, your strength and bravery was inspiring. My heartfelt condolences to Declan, Cathal and Leah. Thinking of you. Siobhan

To Declan, Cathal, Leah and family,
So so sad to hear this, you must be devastated by her loss and she will be sorely missed by her many friends and boys in St John’s who have many happy memories of her. She worked quietly, modestly and always efficiently, the utmost professional, but we also all had great fun with her over the years, she had whip smart repartee in the lunchtime banter sessions. She brought running the ASD classroom to a different level and looked after her boys over and above what was expected, if they were here now, all of them would want to say thank you. I admired her as a colleague but also admired her quiet bravery and stoicism in her illness, in our meetings as retired ladies who lunch she was up for all the gossip, humour and the banter, her positivity was inspiring and I mourn the loss of this and that I no longer will have her as my friend. Her suffering is now over but she has left a lasting mark on all who worked with her and those she taught.
