Gerard (Gerry) Byrne

Celbridge, Co. Kildare

Gerry Byrne (Celbridge and formerly of Newbridge, Co. Kildare and late of the Civil Service) March 30th 2023, passed away peacefully after a long battle borne bravely with dignity and good humour, in the loving care of the staff at Our Lady’s Hospice Harold’s Cross.

Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Imelda.

He will be sadly missed by his children Gwendolyn, Susan and Gary. His grandsons James, Matthew, Daniel and Charlie, and his granddaughter “The Little Princess” Hannah.  Also by his daughter-in-law Andrea, sons-in-law Austin and Shaun, brothers Sean and Noel and his sister Terry.

He will also be missed by Brid, his loving partner of recent years and by his two canine pals Rummy and Poppy.

He will also be missed by his many friends at his local Bridge Clubs and Elm Hall Golf Club.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Ardclough Road, Celbridge on Monday evening (3rd April) from 6pm until 8pm.

Removal to St. Patrick’s Church, Celbridge on Tuesday morning (4th April) arriving for Requiem Mass at 11.00am followed by burial in Donacomper Cemetery, Celbridge.
