Ethna McAuley (née Gough)

McAULEY (née Gough), Ethna (Inchicore, Dublin 8) February 18th, 2021 (peacefully) at home surrounded by her loving family.  Beloved wife of the late Seán (John) and dear  mother of John and James. Ethna will be sadly missed by her loving sons, sisters Breda and Antoinette, brothers John and James, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law Phil and Ann Marie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.

A private funeral will take place due to government advice regarding public gatherings. When the current circumstances have passed we look forward to celebrating Eithne’s life with friends and extended family at a later date.

Those who would have liked to attend the funeral; but due to current restrictions cannot, may join the private family Funeral Mass on Saturday morning, February 20th at 11am by following this LINK or, please leave your personal message or condolence below.

The family would like to acknowledge the exceptional care that Ethna received from the palliative care team at Our Lady’s Hospice Harold’s Cross and The Irish Cancer Society.

Ethna, you were there for me from the day I was born, 78 years ago. You looked after our Dad, and all of us after our mother died suddenly, aged just 48.
I cannot imagine what life will be for me without you being around. The hugh and strong bond between us is not broken by death.
You will always be my older sister. I never ever will forget you.
