Dear Anne, Ciarán, Louise and Cathal,
We were devastated to hear of the passing of Charlie. I’ll forever have fond memories of Charlie going all the way back to the Verona football team 30 years ago, where he was always encouraging and patient with us (especially those of us lacking in any ability!), his friendly and upbeat nature always making it a joy to turn up for training and games. After that, I consider myself incredibly lucky to have lived next door to Charlie (and all of the O’Connors) for over 20 years, and I’ve so many great memories of that time, particularly being included in wonderful family holidays, something I’ll always cherish.

Salma sends her condolences and apologies for not being able to make it over. We’re both thinking of you all at this time.

Best wishes,
Barry & Salma

Charlie was an absolute gentleman and will be sorely missed. He handled his illness with courage and resilience and his family should be proud of his achievements both personally and professionally.
It is unfortunate that due to ongoing restrictions he cannot be afforded the full funeral he so richly deserves.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. Ar Deis de go raibh a anam usual.

Charlie was a wonderful jolly man. It has been quite a few years since I’ve seen Charlie but I will always remember his laugh. Sending my thoughts and condolences to Charlie’s lovely family. RIP Charlie x
