SPAIN, Carol (Clonsilla, Dublin 15) October 19th, 2024 (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff at St. Francis Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Leonie and much-loved daughter of Fergus and the late Stella. Sadly missed by her loving wife, dad, sister Janet, brother Fergus, mother-in-law Deirdre, father-in-law Rob, brothers-in-law Robert and Dom, sisters-in-law Carole and Ciara, nieces Carla and Mary, nephews Alex and Liam, extended family, friends and colleagues.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Clonsilla on Wednesday evening (October 23rd) between 5pm and 7pm.Removal on Thursday afternoon (October 24th) to Dardistown Crematorium (arriving 2.30pm) for a celebration of Carol’s life.

I will always remember Carol’s positivity and enthusiasm, she was a great support to me when I joined the VO and I know that she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Grania

Deepest sympathies to Carol’s family. She was an amazing woman who brightened every room she walked into. I was blessed to know her and work with her for if only for a short time .

Carol brought the power of her leadership and compassion to one of the most important issues of our time: improved mental health services for all. Her brilliance, passion, and commitment to the improvement of mental health in Ireland were encapsulated in her unwavering service as a Board Member on the Mental Health Reform Board of Directors from the year 2021 to the time of her passing. Carol touched so many lives with her work. Rest in Peace, Carol.
