MaeveFellow Dublin Zoo Volunteer & Friend

I met Alf over 30 years ago on his very first volunteer duty at Dublin Zoo & he settled in so quickly to become a very dedicated part of our Zoo family. He particularly loved the Discovery Centre sharing stories with visitors, arranging photos with biofacts, & mentoring new volunteers who joined after him. He would always be first in line to offer help with anything being organised for those with any special needs & brought his Belarusian friends & Chernobyl children to forge a happy Dublin Zoo visit to their memories of their time in Ireland. He walked his own path without trampling on others as he moved. He was a kind, generous, thoroughly decent human being who I am happy to have called my friend & who will be much missed. Deepest condolences to Pat & all his family & friends grieving at this sad time.
