For Áine:
I’m sorry for all the tough love but also grateful for the bit of hope it gave us both in those tough conversations. I will always miss the plans we made but never had. You coming to our home in Upstate NY and meeting the pups who you grew to know through pictures.
Your heart was always so big. You always tried so hard to make sure we were comfortable on our visits. You made sure your little brother’s favorite tea biscuits were there and the electric blanket plugged in so the bed would be warm and ready because “Sure, you must be exhausted!”
I think I will continue to send you pictures if that’s ok on your WhatsApp. I will also take you with us in all that we do. Finally come on those walks with us through the woods to the Hudson River when the leaves change, when the snow falls, when the first bit of green pops through the snow and even in the summer rain. You’ll always be with us.
I miss you and I mourn you two times right now. Once for the life that was but mostly for all the things that you, brilliant girl, never got to be.
You are so loved.
Heartfelt Sympathy to Eithne & entire family.
