SWEENEY (Castleknock, Dublin and formerly of Attymass, Ballina, Co Mayo) September 1st, 2020 (peacefully) at his home and surrounded by his family. Alfie, beloved husband of Bridie and father of Caitriona and Peter. Sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughter, brothers Paddy and Martin, sisters Kay, Eileen and Margaret, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. R.I.P.

Due to Government advice and restrictions regarding public gatherings and to protect our most vulnerable family members and our friends, a private family funeral will take place.

What twinkling eyes Alfie had which spoke of kindness and inclusion. He and Bridie welcomed me into their home on several occasions and renewed my faith in humanity when it was waivering. His country way spoke volumes to me and assured me my roots were solid. Caitriona, you are so like your dad, a big part of him lives on in you! Alfie was such a dear brother and uncle, caring, kind and thoughtful. When we last saw him in December as usual he was on top form, witty and entertaining and that is how we like to remember him Paul and I will miss him but will never forget him. Rest in peace dear Alfie.

Marion Fossett (Blackrock, Co. Dublin) June 5th 2026, surrounded by her family and in the loving care of the staff at St. Vincents Private Hospital, Elm Park. Beloved daughter of the late Herta and Edward (Teddy) and dear sister of Eddy, Angela, Mona and Robert. Sadly missed by her loving brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and large circle of friends.

GARVEY, Paul B.(Dunboyne, Co. Meath and formerly of New Inn, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway) June 5th., 2026 passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown surrounded by his dear family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Ben and Peg and dear nephew Adam Kelly. Deeply mourned and sadly missed by his sister Anna, his nephews and nieces Bán, with his wife Saragh, Dale, Chelsea and their partners, grandnephews and grandnieces Grayson, Ashford, Keegan, Jasmine and Paige. The Garvey Family, the Barker Family, and his many friends at home and abroad all grieve his loss.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Dunboyne on Monday evening (June 8th) between 6 pm and 8 pm. A service to celebrate Paul’s life will take place in Mount Jerome Crematorium on Tuesday afternoon (June 9th) at 2:20pm.
