WHELAN Kevin (Palmerstown, Dublin 20 and formerly of Ballylynan, Co. Laois) November 16th., 2021 peacefully in the loving care of the staff at the Redwood Ward, Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown. Deeply missed by his loving and always caring wife Elizabeth (Lily) his children John, Pauline, Mark and daughters-in-law Ita and Helen, son-in-law Anthony; Kevin will be greatly missed by his eight grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, He will be sadly missed by his brother Brendan, sister Marie, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, and all his relations, friends, neighbours and carers Edel and Maria.

May he rest in peace.

Kevin’s Funeral Mass will be held in on Saturday morning (November 20th) in St Philomena’s Church, Palmerstown at 10 am followed by cremation in The Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome due at 12 noon approx. Dear Lily and Whelan Family I want to offer my sincere condolences for the loss of my most favorite and much loved Uncle Kevin. I first remember Kevin when I was a child and we used to visit Ballylinan to visit our Granny and Uncle Brendan an anty Ann, Uncle Keven was always so kind to us all playing with us and bringing us out shooting for hours on end ensuring we all had a go. I remember so well when I was about 14 years old and went to Carrighlee college in Dublin to become a Christian Brother, I was so lonely and wanted to go home but a visit from Lily and Kevin lifted my spirits so much ye were always so thoughtful and kind I will never forget it. One time I met Kevin and Lilly just by chance I was at a funeral in Kilkenny and spotted them in the car park, I told him then that the owner of TVM Bart Arnold was very impressed when I told him my Dad and his brother Kevin were involved in the electronics and generator business as he knew Keven well “Kevin is a brilliant engineer he serviced all our generators here” was what he said and I’m sure it swung the job for me. I am so sorry we couldn’t get to his funeral, our neighbors here both have Covid and we thought it best to stay away. My wife Mary and I watched online and the eulogy from Mark was wonderful it said all that our family and especially my mother felt about uncle Kevin. He was much loved by so many people and will live on in our memory till it’s our time to join him. Lots of Love to ye All Dave & Mary Whelan

KAVANAGH, Christy (Mulhuddart, Dublin and formerly of Cabra, Dublin). Passed away peacefully on June 18th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, and in the wonderful care of the staff at Ashgrove Nursing Home, Navan Road.

Predeceased by his beloved son Gerard.

Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his partner Mary, children Peter, Tina, Christopher, Gary and Louise, daughters-in-law Gill and Edel, his 14 grandchildren, great-grandson, brothers, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Gerard (Gerry) O’Reilly who passed away, aged of 61, surrounded by his loved ones on June 11th, 2026 in Phoenixville Hospital, Pennsylvania, USA. Gerry will be forever remembered and loved by his children, Meghan, Keelan, Jack, Conor, their mother, Mel and his son-in-law, Tristan. He was a dear son of the late Larry and Marian O’Reilly and much-loved brother of Linda, Aidan, Maeve, Brenda and John. He will be sadly missed by brother-in-law, David, sisters-in-law, Gro and Emma, nieces and nephews and his wide family circle. Gerry will also be sadly missed by his many friends, his colleagues at Vanguard and the athletics community both Stateside and in Ireland.

Forever in our hearts.

Dear Lily and Whelan Family I want to offer my sincere condolences for the loss of my most favorite and much loved Uncle Kevin. I first remember Kevin when I was a child and we used to visit Ballylinan to visit our Granny and Uncle Brendan an anty Ann, Uncle Keven was always so kind to us all playing with us and bringing us out shooting for hours on end ensuring we all had a go. I remember so well when I was about 14 years old and went to Carrighlee college in Dublin to become a Christian Brother, I was so lonely and wanted to go home but a visit from Lily and Kevin lifted my spirits so much ye were always so thoughtful and kind I will never forget it. One time I met Kevin and Lilly just by chance I was at a funeral in Kilkenny and spotted them in the car park, I told him then that the owner of TVM Bart Arnold was very impressed when I told him my Dad and his brother Kevin were involved in the electronics and generator business as he knew Keven well “Kevin is a brilliant engineer he serviced all our generators here” was what he said and I’m sure it swung the job for me.
I am so sorry we couldn’t get to his funeral, our neighbors here both have Covid and we thought it best to stay away. My wife Mary and I watched online and the eulogy from Mark was wonderful it said all that our family and especially my mother felt about uncle Kevin. He was much loved by so many people and will live on in our memory till it’s our time to join him. Lots of Love to ye All Dave & Mary Whelan
